Kids Blog-Free Gift
Last week, kids learned that though no one really deserves God's grace because we have all sinned, He gives us the free gift of eternal life through Jesus.
Bible Verse: "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23
The Book of Genesis 3 and the Book of Romans 5 tell us that sin entered the world through one man ever since the beginning when Adam and Eve disobeyed God's command. Through one man's sin, death came to all people, everyone including you and I were made sinners, and judgment and condemnation followed. Romans 3:23 writes, "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." As a consequence of our sin, we all deserve death and judgment. However the Bible also gives us a good news. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord!" Though we deserve to die because we have all sinned, God has provided a way out so we can be set free from sin and receive a new life! However, because our God is perfect, holy, righteous and just, price had to be paid for our sin so we can be made right with God. Hebrews 9:22 tells us, "In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." 2 Corinthians 5:21 writes, "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."God provided His one and only Son, Jesus as the perfect sacrifice to die on the cross for our sin so that whoever believes in Him will not die but have eternal life. Because of Jesus' death and resurrection, when we believe in Him, we receive forgiveness of our sins and receive the free gift of eternal life. This week, as we remember this truth God has given us, let's thank Him for loving us even though we have all sinned, for covering us with His goodness, and remember that God commands us to count ourselves dead to sin but alive to God.
